The center, whether located in the individual or the eventual enclosed open space of the campus, is protected; both vulnerable and transparent, character and knowledge are apparent; this heightened focus of the center allows for self assessment and evaluation.
Santa Ana Tribal Government Complex
The Pueblo of Santa Ana presented a desire to integrate several tribal and community services under a single roof and simultaneously develop a cohesive site design to integrate the disparate buildings that comprised the government complex. As with all Native American communities, the struggle to maintain cultural identity within the larger context of homogenous cultural influences was a palpable driving force behind their desire to alleviate the disparaging effects of less-than-sensitive bureaucratic indifference.
